- Welcome to the website of the archive dedicated to György Kovásznai (1934-83), Hungarian visual artist, writer, painter, animated film director.
- Kovásznai by now a legend, was one of the most creative artists of the “socialist” times in Hungary, he is mostly acknowledged as the painter who made it in the animation film industry, though less is known publicly of his achievements as autonomous painter and writer. Serious efforts are made now to make his unique oeuvre visible for a wider audience.
- This website is run by the Kovásznai Research Workshop, which embraces the whole oeuvre of the artist. This archive offers researchers the chance to learn more of Kovásznai’s artwork.

- You can find a varied selection of his paintings and drawings in folders named by the decades, in which they were created.Please click on each folder to see more images. You can watch a few animation film (out of the 26 he made), which will give you an insight of the beginning of his carreer in the 1960s. Other details of his films can be seen on the DVD menu you can click on once you selected the film menu.
